About this subject
After successfully completing this subject you should be able to:
- Evaluate contemporary issues in financial planning and the evolution of financial planning as a profession
- Identify your career goals in the context of the operations of a financial planning practice and the various roles and responsibilities in the profession
- Demonstrate a range of generic and behavioural skills required to be an effective professional
- Articulate strategies employing ethical frameworks and giving voice to values to support acting in the best interests of your clients and the financial planning profession.

- The financial planning practice
- Becoming a reflective practitioner
- Getting to know your client
- Managing the client communication process
- Acting in the best interests of your client
This subject aims to develop student's knowledge and generic skills required to be effective in financial planning. Students may be involved in interviewing a financial planner, auditing their own skill level, creating an action plan to improve skills and commencing career planning.
This is a restricted subject for students in the Bachelor of Applied Financial Advice and is only a 5 credit point subject.
