About this subject

  • After successfully completing this subject you should be able to:

    1. describe and evaluate current approaches to offender risk and needs assessment
    2. explain the principles of effective correctional intervention
    3. outline the elements of evidence-based interventions for correctional clients.
    4. identify the strengths and limitations of interventions conducted with different client and offence populations and in different settings.
    5. evaluate empirical studies on the effectiveness of psychological interventions with offenders
