In this unit students reflect on a range of professional writing approaches for real-world application. Students refine their capacity as critical and focused writers and readers of their own and others’ work. They write in a range of genres and styles, and develop techniques to refine academic, creative, workplace and other writing. By completing this unit, students will be provided with the opportunity to gain industry standard skills in professional writing that is a valuable addition to professional portfolios.The learning experiences of this unit also provide a transition into important practices for university life, including writing, thinking, reading, viewing, research, and collaborative work.Please Note: All students studying at Murdoch University will need to complete the compulsory unit, Murdoch Academic Passport (MAP100), which only takes 2-3 hours to complete online. The Power of Perfect Text: Writing for Professional Contexts

This subject was previously known as User Interface Design.This subject focuses on providing an understanding of interface and interaction design especially for game and simulation systems.Murdoch University students should also note that Human-computer Interaction ( ICT325) is considered academically equivalent and therefore you should not enrol in this subject if you have successfully completed ICT325.Please Note: All students studying at Murdoch University will need to complete the compulsory unit, Murdoch Academic Passport (MAP100), which only takes 2-3 hours to complete online. Games User Experience and  Interface Design

This unit aims to give students a general background of virtual realities (augmented, mixed and virtual) and game software design to create something fun and entertaining. It addresses elements and issues of design concepts, creation and plays in computer, video and VR games. Topics include character design, creative play, core mechanics, design documentation, design process environment, game-balancing, player motivation, user interfaces, and virtual realities. This unit does not treat virtual realities and game software design as purely art or engineering.Please Note: All students studying at Murdoch University will need to complete the compulsory unit, Murdoch Academic Passport (MAP100), which only takes 2-3 hours to complete online.
