To show just how these course comparison wizards can help, we asked student advisor Maria about the most common questions she handles, why she loves her job and how she can help.

What’s the best part of being a student advisor?

Helping students through complex issues is really satisfying, especially when I can bring to light options they didn't know they had.

What’s the most common question you get asked, and what’s your response?

“I'm trying to enrol in a subject ...  can you help?”

My response would be: sure! Quite often there are prerequisites involved, or the student is having difficulties enrolling because of a complex study plan. But we're here to help. Being able to provide the correct information and assist the student through the enrolment process is always satisfying.

Would you recommend studying online through OUA?

Absolutely. Having the flexibility to study online and having someone assist so readily is amazing. To have students enrol without entry requirements and assisting them to start their journey to achieving their goals is a privilege! I believe the integrity of OUA ensures students keep coming back to complete their journey and goals.

Since starting at OUA, what have you noticed as the biggest change in education?

The overwhelming choice of courses students can now enrol into! Since my time at OUA, we‘ve increased the number of unis we’ve teamed up with, so students have an even greater choice. For me, it’s proof that we’re really trying to help students achieve their goals.

If you’d like the flexibility of reaching your goals where and when you want through online study, we’re here to help. Get in touch with a friendly student advisor for a range of helpful advice. Who knows? You might speak with Maria!
