This course provides an introductory smorgasbord of creative and cost-effective promotional techniques in the special context of new business ventures, small and family businesses. In the case of self-employed professionals, building a personal brand is imperative to differentiate your business offering to stand out from your competitors and build increased customer loyalty. This course provides students with the skills and knowledge necessary to successfully build their brand, utilise their social networks, and employ other cost-effective promotional tools to communicate with their customers. Branding and Promoting New Business Ventures

This subject introduces marketing to postgraduate students from diverse discipline areas. International marketing is a rapidly growing area within the disciplines of marketing and international business. Central to international marketing is the response of international rather than domestic buyers in the marketing environment, the types of decisions that are most feasible and the information required in decision making. During this course, the student will gain insights into the pressures created by the international economic, political, legal and cultural environmental influences on marketing planning. This course will enable students to learn analytical skills required to develop international marketing plans and develop the marketing mix elements in the international environment. Marketing to the World is one of five subjects in the marketing discipline and extends the knowledge developed in marketing management into the international rather than the domestic market. The major theories include, pathways of internationalisation, political and economic risk analysis, international planning, cultural distance, branding for international markets, international market entry, distribution strategies and adaptation versus standardisation. The conceptual material developed during this course will be implemented through class exercises, case studies and a major project.

Integrated Marketing Communications offers overall knowledge of approaches marketers adopt to communicate the value of their products and services across various communication tools. It explores the various strategies and tactics utilised by companies to create cohesive and effective marketing messages. In this subject, you will develop knowledge of the concepts, frameworks, and models of integrated marketing communications. You will learn to critically analyse the integrated marketing communications practices of a business. Further, you will learn to utilise appropriate tools to develop an integrated marketing communications campaign for a company.

Integrated Marketing Communications

This subject provides students with the opportunity to apply their existing knowledge and skills in order to publish real books, by real authors, for real readers. Depending on the books accepted for publication, where these books are in the publishing process, and the skills and interests of individual students, the subject will vary from semester to semester, as well as from student to student. Nonetheless, every student will be involved in at least two of the following publishing processes: acquisitions, editorial, design, print production, digital production, marketing, and sales. Students will also learn about project management, collaborative problem-solving, financial planning, brand development, social media marketing, and more, as these are all required to operate a real publishing house. The skills developed and practised in this unit are transferrable to a wide variety of industries and workplaces.
