This subject explores the preparation, planning and delivery of communication strategies and activities for major events and entertainment industries. It builds on students’ knowledge of strategic communication while applying that knowledge and skills in practice to events and entertainment contexts.

Event and Entertainment Communication

This capstone course provides a work-integrated learning opportunity to apply knowledge and skills garnered throughout the program to develop projects and media outputs that focus on communication solutions to address social, environmental, and other issues of concern. Prerequisites: 2513LHS Media Law AND must have completed 2505LHS Ethical Communication OR must have completed 2501LHS Public Relations Theory, Ethics and Professional Practice OR must have completed 2511LHS News Writing and Ethics.Incompatible: 3503LHS Communication for Social and Environmental Change Project.

Communication for Social and Environmental Responsibility

This subject enables students to develop a critical understanding of ethics and professional practice in the contexts of journalism and strategic communication. It offers a highly practical, &#39;hands on&#39; focus on ethical decision-making and social considerations in the workplace.

Ethical Communication

This subject provides knowledge and skills in the development of professional social media and considers theory and practice to take advantage of the opportunities of social media while navigating the risks that come with the terrain.

Social Media for Global Communication

Students need high level audio and video production skills for a range of communication professions. This course develops literacy in these styles of production and understandings on how they are used to best communicate with stakeholders and publics. Telling Stories with Video and Sound

This subject is a basic introduction to digital media production, providing students with exposure to the theory and practice behind communicating with and through a variety of digital media formats including photography and web design.

Digital Media: Portfolio Production
