About this degree
On successful completion of the program, students should be able to:
1. Apply practical proficiency in a chosen creative arts discipline to achieve the processes and outcomes necessary for a skilled artist working in communities.
2. Apply theoretical and historical underpinnings of the Human Services and of a chosen creative arts discipline by illustrating an awareness of context and impact in relation to current practice.
3. Communicate persuasively in written, verbal and creative form to affect successful engagement with industry, government and communities by employing cultural and emotional intelligence, ethical perspectives, and critical and creative thinking.
4. 4. Engage autonomous and collaborative strategies to conceive, design, implement, manage, and acquit projects relevant to the human services and creative arts industries.
5. Examine, select and apply appropriate theoretical knowledge of human services, based on social justice and human rights in the Australian and global context, when cooperating with diverse communities to achieve positive outcomes.
6. Employ empathy, equity and justice when encountering issues concerning the welfare of, and advocacy for, individuals and groups.
This degree will expand your creativity, facilitation and leadership skills, as well as your understanding of the needs of community care and development. Study digital composition, song writing, recording and music production, and collaborative music practice along with foundational human services courses. You’ll have the opportunity to undertake a project placement in a community organisation during your third year of coursework.
