The effects of sociological, legal, economic, ethical, political, strategic and environmental changes, issues and developments on human resource management processes, practices, programs and policies.
There are no prerequisites for this unit.
Note: Level 2 units normally assume an introductory level of prior knowledge in this area, e.g. from studying related Level 1 units or other relevant experience.
- Annotated Bibliography — (1000 words) (10%)
- Case Study — (2500 words) (30%)
- Invigilated Exam — 2 hrs (60%)
At the completion of this unit students will be able to:
- describe the main technical activities and responsibilities of human resource managers
- identify the implications of current and recent economic and sociological pressures on human resource management
- develop effective organisational responses to legal, political and ethical issues and developments which impinge on human resource practices and policies
- determine the changing roles and competencies of human resource practitioners in response to strategic and environmental modifications
- provide constructive feedback in a team setting.
