Description
This unit aims to develop inter-cultural awareness and effectiveness in global business context, and the successful implementation of strategy, structure and systems in inter-cultural management. It examines corporate and personal ethical behaviour in a global economy. There is a strong emphasis on teamwork in various forms of case study analysis of actual business situations. The focus is on the 'people problems' that invariably arise in international business relationships. The unit also provides practical experience in working in self-managed teams, reporting, analysing and presenting ideas in a formal and informal manner.

There are no prerequisites for this unit.
Note: Level 3 units normally assume a moderate level of prior knowledge in this area, eg from studying related Level 1 and 2 units or other relevant experience.

Learning Outcomes
At the completion of this unit students will be able to:
- demonstrate an understanding of inter-cultural issues in a management context
- identify inter-cultural issues and critically analyse them
- gather relevant information and evaluate it from cultural perspectives
- use the acquired models and concepts to solve inter-cultural problems
- use the acquired models and concepts to design inter-culturally sensitive approaches
- conduct an independent inter-cultural analysis
- work with prepared materials and present them coherently in ad-hoc teams
- critically evaluate own work and that of other students.
