Tyre Fitter

Tyre Fitters are part of a larger industry group known as motor vehicle parts and accessories fitters. Specifically, tyre fitters work with cars to fit tyres onto vehicles. They also repair tyres as needed.

Duties and tasks

  • Answering customers queries about the tyre fitting process
  • Balancing tyres with the help of electronic equipment
  • Billing customers for tyre fitting services
  • Inspecting tyres to determine if they should be removed
  • Measuring cars to determine the appropriate new tyre to fit on
  • Removing old tyres and disposing of them properly
  • Working with tools and air-driven equipment to fit a tyre onto a vehicle
