Vending Machine Attendants

Vending Machine Attendants distribute and change stock in vending or recreational machines, maintain equipment and collect money from vending machines. They may travel to several locations in a day to service vending machines.

Duties and tasks

  • Collect and transport vending machine stock and maintenance equipment using trucks or other vehicles
  • Collect money from vending machines and verify that amount matches what is shown in monitoring systems of purchases, delivering money to superiors
  • Ensure that recreation /game machines are working properly, crediting money paid and calculating allotted time for purchase
  • Examine vending machines to ensure they are functioning properly, such as dispensing correct items, crediting correct money paid, cooling and ice-making systems
  • Maintain records of money collection and stock details as well as maintenance needs
  • Restock vending machines with goods that are empty or low, taking note of how quickly certain items sell
  • Use tools to repair and maintain vending machines and replace malfunctioning electrical or mechanical components

Working conditions
