Locksmith

Locksmiths create, install and repair a variety of locks for public buildings as well as private residences. They help maintain the security of buildings, gates and homes by creating locks designed for specific sets of keys.

Duties and tasks

  • Convert locks in the case of robbery, lost keys or security issues
  • Create a variety of locks based on customer needs and security levels
  • Install locks to houses, gates and doors and create specific key sets that open those locks
  • Open locks without proper keys, using different techniques and manipulation
  • Process payments for locksmith services and give quotes to customers for intended work
  • Use a variety of tools to repair damaged or broken locks or make additional keys to match locks if they are lost or stolen

Working conditions
