Make Up Artist

Make Up Artists are considered a subset of a larger group of performing arts technicians. Make up artists work with actors, singers, newscasters, and other public figures to apply makeup before shows or before going on camera.

Duties and tasks

  • Determining the makeup needs for particular individuals or settings
  • Discussing plans of action with clients
  • Removing makeup cleanly and safely after the show or performance has ended
  • Selecting and applying particular types or brands of makeup
  • Touching up clients as needed between takes or in commercial breaks

Working conditions
