Agricultural, Forestry & Horticultural Operator

Agricultural, Forestry & Horticultural Operators operate light and heavy machinery in order to assist in cultivating the land, planting new seeds, clearing space for new harvest and moving fallen down trees.

Duties and tasks

  • Cultivate and harvest crops
  • Knowledge and understanding of Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures
  • Operate machinery equipped with scoops, shovels, or buckets
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance
  • Plough land and fertilise plants and vegetation
  • Transports and deliver materials

Working conditions

Operators will work outside often in remote areas. Working conditions may vary from sunshine to rain, and machine operators must be ready to work long hours often within tight deadlines.
