About this subject

  • On successful completion of this Unit the learner will be able to:

    1. Identify the methodologies (historical and contemporary) for teaching and learning English as a second or foreign language (TESOL)
    2. Consolidate your understanding of the complex ways in which second language acquisition (SLA) and TESOL methodologies interact via your critical appraisal of contemporary TESOL literature.
    3. Critique, compare and evaluate a range of contemporary teaching and learning methodologies for the TESOL context.
    4. Plan detailed classroom materials and resources that are culturally and linguistically appropriate for a specific TESOL context using a range of TESOL methodologies
    5. Enhance your academic writing skills.
