About this subject
Upon completion of this subject, the student should be able to:
- Explain the importance of knowledge management to, and identify the key knowledge assets of, an organisation
- Identify the major challenges and obstacles of knowledge dissemination and creation, and apply appropriate tools and strategies to overcome these obstacles to facilitate knowledge creation and dissemination

This subject explores the need for knowledge to be managed in an organisation, and the tools and strategies that can be used to effectively manage the knowledge assets of that organisation. The subject starts with the identification of knowledge assets in an organisation, followed by knowledge capture and codification in order for knowledge to be shared and integrated into the organisational level. The subject then explores topics on individual and organisational learning and how learning can be encouraged and facilitated.
