About this subject
Upon completion of this subject, students should be able to:

This subject develops the student’s knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of Marine Surveyor. It introduces students to develop the skills that are necessary for carrying out survey and inspection of a ship’s hull, machinery and cargo, which includes mechanical, electrical, hull and safety equipment, to standards required by the certifying authorities. Students will learn the role of Maritime organisations, classification societies and port state control authorities in the safety construction of vessels. In addition the students will also develop effective communication, report writing and investigation skills.
