About this subject
Upon completion of this subject, the student should be able to:
- Acquire, interpret and demonstrate knowledge of applying information systems and technologies to support supply chain logistics for business
- Research, analyse and evaluate basic information systems and technologies which improve supply chain logistics performance for business
- Apply knowledge of information systems and technologies to interpret and evaluate supply chain logistics practice and scenarios to make recommendations which solve the problems of business

The subject explores contemporary supply chain logistics for organisations from Informational, Communication and Technological (ICT) perspectives. Specifically, the unit develops conceptual knowledge across the supply chains logistics field, by examining ICTs concepts at the strategic, tactical and operational layers of the eLogistics framework within such topic areas as: transportation, warehousing, inventory management, global logistics and green logistics. By the end of the unit, students will know how the principles of supply chain logistics intersect with ICTs to assist businesses achieve improved productivity and safety.
