About this subject
Upon successful completion of this subject, students should be able to:
- Understand and compare sustainability concepts from a range of perspectives
- Communicate and apply sustainability principles
- Demonstrate the qualities of a reflective practitioner
- Corporate activity and sustainable development
- Corporate social responsibility (CSR)
- Social and environmental accounting
- Sustainability and corporate governance
- Triple bottom line (TBL) and the public sector
- Ethical and socially responsible investment
- Integrated reporting
This subject introduces the concept of corporate sustainability from both a business and social perspective. The links between sustainability and corporate reporting on: economic, environmental and social (triple bottom line (TBL)) and environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues are explored. The unit also examines related areas of corporate and government accountability, including corporate social responsibility, corporate governance and socially responsible investment.
