About this subject

  • By the end of this 10-week course, you’ll be able to:

    1. Demonstrate an understanding of the structure and processes of government in Australia.
    2. Demonstrate an awareness of Australian political culture and its historical context.
    3. Explore the legal and economic contexts of government in Australia, particularly in respect of their differential impacts on citizenship and human rights of diverse cultural groups in Australian society.
    4. Identify and critically discuss some of the major current political debates in Australia.
    5. Examine the context and history of Indigenous political issues.
