About this subject

  • At the completion of this subject students will be able to:

    1. explain the fundamentals of materials in manufacturing and mechanics in metal cutting processes
    2. evaluate major manufacturing processes and related tooling and be able to apply them into practice
    3. fabricate sheet metal products through sheet metalworking operations
    4. explain, analyse, predict and prevent material failures in primary manufacturing processes
    5. select, analyse and design metal deformation processes.

To enrol in this subject, you must be admitted into a degree.

Additional requirements

  • Attendance requirements - This subject has a 2 day on-campus attendance requirement. The on-campus schedule for Study Period 1 2019 is 9am Tuesday 16 April 2019 to 5pm Wednesday 17 April 2019.
  • Equipment requirements - Audio headset with microphone are required to access weekly consultation and help desk facilities.
