  On completion of this subject students should be able to achieve the following learning outcomes:

  1. Devise a plan of care for the acutely mentally unwell person that reflects a holistic examination and assessment of the individual.
  2. Create documents that demonstrate the access pathways and resources for the management of clients with psychiatric illnesses’
  3. Design a crisis intervention plan detailing how this is informed by crisis intervention theories
  4. Create a strategy to increase public awareness of mental health matters outlining contemporary treatment practices and psychosocial interventions in Australia
  5. Deconstruct one’s own biases and assumptions of mental illness reflecting awareness and knowledge of one’s own understanding
