About this subject
On completion of this course students should be able to achieve the following learning outcomes:
- Evaluate the multiple definitions, models and overarching principles of clinical supervision.
- Demonstrate the importance of responding to individual learning needs within the unpredictable nature of the clinical setting
- Promote the importance of learner feedback to professional growth and development
- Consider how to role-model respectful and trust-building behaviours in an inter-professional health-care context
- Explore the barriers and enablers of effective clinical supervision in contemporary health care contexts.

This course provides learners with an opportunity to explore coaching and supervision models across the professions.
The course will address specific challenges facing clinical supervisors, particularly in relation to optimising teaching and learning in clinical settings. By exploring best practice, as leaders, the course considers principles that underpin effective mentoring and role modelling in the context of the clinical setting.
