About this subject

  • On completion of this course students should be able to achieve the following learning outcomes:

    1. Perform a comprehensive person-centred assessment.
    2. Critically reflect on how clinical decisions are made and barriers which may impede effective decision making.
    3. Analyse the findings from a comprehensive assessment and relate to the person’s current presentation and underlying pathology
    4. Demonstrate clinical reasoning and a person centred approach to the development of a nursing care plan.
    5. Critique a range of clinical assessment tools
    6. Engage in critical refection to improve practice.
    7. Apply evidence-based practice when engaging in nursing assessment and care planning.
