About this subject

  • On completion of this course students should be able to achieve the following learning outcomes:

    1. Transfer complex knowledge and ideas in the speciality of mental health care, promotion and prevention to a variety of audiences

    2. Harness information and opportunities, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary healthcare team, to provide effective early intervention strategies for the client with mental ill-health. 

    3. Use highly developed leadership and management skills to formulate mental health care plans and pathways at the primary and public health level 

    4. Communicate effectively and negotiate confidently with clients and their families from culturally and linguistically diverse populations to achieve optimal outcomes in mental healthcare

    5. Apply advanced mental health practice and knowledge that enhances their capacity to work safely and effectively

    6. Combine research and reflective practice to contribute to the professional development of others and to make informed complex clinical decisions in the context of mental health
