Sport has developed into a multi-billion dollar global industry, but with technological developments, new threats to the integrity of sport have emerged. This subject provides a critical introduction to the issues and debates relating to deviance and crime in the context of sport. Sport-related crime affects a wide-range of sporting codes and involves a broad range of individuals. In recent times large sporting events have been tarnished by corruption issues such as bribery, match-fixing, doping, trafficking, environmental crime; violence and other crime related scandals.
