This early-intermediate level subject builds upon the foundation gained in the first-year introductory subjects. Various aspects of Indonesian culture and society such as ways of making and maintaining contacts, shopping, discussing and obtaining medical services, etc. are introduced through a variety of texts. Aural, oral, reading and writing skills are developed through various communicative tasks and activities. Grammar is taught to help accelerate the acquisition of the language.
