Fraud Prevention and Investigation
About this subject
Upon completion of this subject, students will be able to:
- demonstrate in depth knowledge of the types of fraud that can be perpetrated on individuals and organisations;
- critically analyse a range of diverse situations that lead to the perpetration of fraud in an organisational setting;
- identify and critically evaluate methods of fraud prevention, detection, and investigation; and
- critically evaluate mechanisms of control and governance used to prevent and detect fraud in contemporary organisational settings.
- Topics will be available to enrolled students in the subjects Learning Management System site approximately one week prior to the commencement of the teaching period.
To succeed in the fast-paced world of financial investment, you need the skills and knowledge to analyse securities, identify the strongest prospects and then combine them in a portfolio that will deliver results. In studying this subject, you will explore both security analysis and portfolio management. In the first module, you will analyse the risk and return profiles of individual financial assets such as equity, bonds, options and futures. In the second module, you will undertake portfolio analysis, optimisation and performance evaluation in an investment context. You will examine passive and active investment strategies involving various asset classes.
