About this subject

  • Upon completion of this subject, students will be able to:

    1. demonstrate an advanced understanding of the financial planning advisory processes and apply expert knowledge of relevant ethical and professional responsibilities;
    2. demonstrate and apply expert knowledge of the industry and the external environment in which financial planners operate, including the economic, legal, compliance and disclosure requirements when providing advice;
    3. independently apply suitable theories of investment, portfolio management, superannuation, the associated taxation issues, and the management of investment risk to plan strategies for building and managing wealth for clients; and
    4. demonstrate at a high level the ability to communicate to clients all relevant and appropriate advice and recommendations in a clear and concise manner, in a systematic and complying format and at a level appropriate for the client.
