About this subject

  • Upon completion of this subject, students will be able to:

    1. demonstrate a depth of understanding of a major Chinese art form;
    2. demonstrate a depth of understanding of the structure of Chinese writing; and
    3. apply knowledge and technical skills of the basic brush work and styles of Chinese calligraphy.

  • Attendance requirements - There is are two non-mandatory two-day intensive school for this subject which students may choose to attend. The first: A weekend school for students which is held in Sydney. This weekend school is held before the beginning of the teaching period. The second: A weekend school for students which is held in Sydney. Dates for this intensive school to be advised.
  • Equipment requirements - Headphones or speakers (required to listen to lectures and other media) Headset, including microphone (highly recommended) Webcam (may be required for participation in virtual classrooms and/or media presentations).
  • Software requirements - It is essential for students to have reliable internet access in order to participate in and complete your units, regardless of whether they contain an on campus attendance or intensive school component.   • Travel requirements - Travel may be required to attend the non-mandatory Intensive School for this subject.
