This subject will expose students to the issues related to the design, development, implementation, assessment and evaluation of online learning environments. It is intended as an introductory subject leading towards greater understanding of the complexities of integration of pedagogy with information and communication tools when designing an effective learning environment underpinned by current learning theory. Learners in this subject are connected in the exploration, investigation, formulation and resolution of issues identified in institutional, technological, pedagogical, and ethical contexts. Learners engage rigorously with current learning theories suitable for web-based environment in order to make links between the theory and practice.
