About this subject
Students who successfully complete this subject will be able to:
- Apply coherent and advanced knowledge of financial management processes and practices and evaluate their effectiveness and use, using critical thinking
- Critically analyse the current issues facing businesses in their aim of achieving sound financial management
- Apply strategic finance fundamentals to the analysis, design and operation of various models using strategic finance methodologies in a range of contexts
- Apply problem solving and decision making methodologies to identify and provide innovative solutions using the design and valuation of complex financial securities, with intellectual independence
- Communicate proficiently in a professional manner as a member or leader of a diverse group of people.

This subject aims to develop student understanding of financial management issues currently being faced by organisations domestically and internationally. It will focus on the ever- changing dynamics of the finance world and consider potential solutions to problems that they face. In general terms, the aim of the subject is to encourage students to question current financial management practices being undertaken by organisations.
