About this subject
Students who successfully complete this subject will be able to:
- Apply coherent advanced knowledge of the changing role of the public and private sectors in delivering economic and social infrastructure using critical thinking
- Apply Public Private Interface fundamentals in the analysis, design and operation of models for delivery of infrastructure from the perspective of risk sharing, public interest, public value, value for money, governance, accountability, and financing
- Critically analyse the importance of understanding stakeholders, project management and design issues concerning collaborative practice in infrastructure provision, including holistic risk assessment and management
- Apply advanced knowledge of academic and policy debates regarding the sustainable public outcomes of public-private partnerships
- Communicate proficiently in professional practice to a variety of audiences, function as an effective member or leader within a diverse team.

The subject provides students with the opportunity to critique the public / private interface in providing and sustaining effective national infrastructure services. Students will explore and apply concepts relating to public / private sector collaboration and policy in critiquing public private partnerships (PPPs) in their industry, organisation and region. These include: risk sharing, public interest, public value, value for money, project financing, collaborative governance, accountability and stakeholder engagement.
