About this subject
Students who successfully complete this subject will be able to:
- Develop a critical understanding of the salient aspects of a chosen area of interest in (IS) Information Systems and (IT) Information Technology
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of contemporary and/or emerging issues in the area of IT project management, Business Analysis, or Information Systems (IS) Management
- Effectively communicate and articulate ideas and operate as a member or leader of a diverse team
- Critically evaluate an appropriate research method and research design within the context of a small research project
- Demonstrate the ability to conduct scholarly research on the literature and practice on a given multi-disciplinary topic
- Develop a critical understanding of the salient aspects of a chosen area of interest in (IS) Information Systems and (IT) Information Technology
- Students will prepare a 5,000-word article on a topic chosen in consultation with staff
- Articles will generally take the form of a comprehensive literature review of a topic of contemporary interest.
This subject allows students to undertake a special research project. It requires research into a topic that is relevant to the program but alternative to the material included in the prescribed units. The subject enables students to develop understandings and skills on a particular IS/IT thematic research area and apply them to a specific project.
