About this subject
Upon completion of this subject, you should be able to demonstrate achievement of the following learning outcomes:
- Explain and critique key concepts and theories in the field of logistics and supply chain management
- Differentiate and produce appropriate principles and approaches in the formulation of supply chain strategy
- Generate and check different configurations and scenarios in the optimisation of supply chain network
- Differentiate and execute appropriate techniques and methods in the integration of logistics and supply chain operations
- Generate and check various supply solutions using appropriate assessment methods in the rationalisation of distribution and transportation network

This subject was previously known as Advanced Supply Chain Management.
This subject considers supply chain management as a holistic logistics management process across the full spectrum of business activities, from the sourcing of raw materials from suppliers to the delivery of goods and services to the final customers and consumers. It attempts to provide a synthesis of the many critical facets of supply chain management and formulate appropriate strategies to enhance overall efficiency and responsiveness through optimisation.

Single subject FAQs
Single subjects are the individual components that make up a degree. With Open Universities Australia, you’re able to study many of them as stand-alone subjects, including postgraduate single subjects, without having to commit to a degree.
Each of your subjects will be held over the course of a study term, and they’ll usually require 10 to 12 hours of study each week. Subjects are identified by a title and a code, for example, Developmental Psychology, PSY20007.
First, find the degree that you would like to study on our website.
If that degree allows entry via undergraduate subjects, there will be information about this under the Entry Requirements section. You will find a list of 2-4 open enrolment subjects you need to successfully complete to qualify for admission into that qualification.
Once you pass those subjects, you will satisfy the academic requirements for the degree, and you can apply for entry.
