About this subject
On successful completion of this subject you will be able to:
- Demonstrate creativity and initiative to new situations in professional practice and/or for further learning
- Plan and execute a substantial work-integrated learning (WIL) project
- Develop communication, technical and research skills to justify and interpret conceptual propositions, methodologies, conclusions and professional decisions to specialist and non-specialist audiences
- Develop a body of technical and theoretical knowledge that includes the understanding of recent developments in the management accounting discipline, accounting information systems and areas of professional practice
- A week-by-week guide to the topics you will explore in this unit will be provided in your study materials.
Strategic Management Control Systems provides you with the opportunity to focus on the concepts of management accounting and information systems as a system to record, process, report and analyse information for costing and managerial decision making. It also aims to raise your awareness to the significant organisational and social changes in a range of industries and organisations which have dramatically affected the environment and functions of management accounting systems.
This course includes a Work Integrated Learning experience. You will undertake and be assessed on structured activities that allow you to learn, apply and demonstrate your professional or vocational practice; and be involved in authentic engagement with partner organisations that include industry feedback.
This subject also provides you with a capstone experience, which will provide you with the opportunity to integrate, critically reflect on and consolidate what you have learnt in your degree.
