About this subject
On successful completion of this subject you will be able to:
- Demonstrate an advanced and integrated understanding of Constitutional Law.
- Analyse and research complex problems relating to Constitutional Law.
- Demonstrate sophisticated cognitive skills in approaching legal issues relating to Constitutional law and generate appropriate responses.
- Demonstrate the intellectual and practical skills needed to justify and interpret theoretical propositions, legal methodologies, conclusions and professional decisions and identify, research, evaluate and synthesise relevant factual, legal and policy issues.

In this subject, you will study areas of constitutional law that are essential for an understanding of the fundamental concepts and the unique complexion of the Australian constitutional system. You will explore constitutional conventions, federalism (both the division of powers and implied inter-governmental immunities), the separation of powers, implied rights and, at State level, restrictive legislative procedures.
