About this subject

  • At the completion of this subject students will be able to:

    • define and state the relationships between basic physical quantities such as Force, work, energy, power, etc.;
    • explain the physical properties governing energy production, transmission and storage;
    • understand where energy is currently used, and show an appreciation of how it may be used efficiently;
    • perform quantitative calculations to compare various means of energy production;
    • demonstrate how even simple atmospheric models can qualitatively reveal the greenhouse effect.
