  • On successful completion of the subject you should be able to:

    1. describe the ways in which social policy ideas have changed over time
    2. identify recent trends in Australian social policy, and the issues influencing social policy formation.
    3. discuss the ways in which concepts of 'community' shape social policy
    4. analyse the role language plays in social policy discourse
    5. Analyse social policies
    6. Conduct research and identify solutions to problems
    7. Communicate clearly and effectively, orally and in writing
