About this subject

  • At the completion of this subject students will be able to:

    1. Understand the various theoretical perspectives on the impact of globalisation on the role of the State
    2. Describe the policy-making process and identify points at which international factors impact on domestic policy capacity
    3. Explain the roles played by institutions and actors, both domestic and international, in the policy process
    4. Describe the various mechanisms through which policy is transferred from one jurisdiction to another
    5. Locate, assess and analyse relevant evidence and information related to public policy in the national and international spheres

    Students who have an Academic Standing of Suspension or Exclusion under Macquarie University's Academic Progression Policy are not permitted to enrol in OUA units offered by Macquarie University. Students with an Academic Standing of Suspension or Exclusion who have enrolled in units through OUA will be withdrawn.
