About this subject

  • On successful completion of this subject, you will be able to:

    1. apply understanding developed through course material, readings and research to explain key problems in Metaphysics and responses to them.
    2. apply advanced skills in critical analysis and reflection to respond to the problems and theories introduced in the unit.

    3. clearly communicate your own perspective on the views and arguments presented in the unit.

    4. contribute to the learning of the group by engaging constructively in philosophical discussion and activities.

You must complete some Level 1 and 2 studies before starting this subject. Prior study in Philosophy is recommended.

    Students who have an Academic Standing of Suspension or Exclusion under Macquarie University's Academic Progression Policy are not permitted to enrol in OUA units offered by Macquarie University. Students with an Academic Standing of Suspension or Exclusion who have enrolled in units through OUA will be withdrawn.
