About this subject

  • On successful completion of this unit, you will be able to

    1. Describe common research designs in psychological science and draw appropriate conclusions consistent with the research design.
    2. Describe statistical techniques in psychological science, including both signicance testing and effect sizes, and apply these tests appropriately to research designs.
    3. Conduct statistical tests appropriately, including using statistical software, and draw appropriate conclusions.
    4. Summarise data, both numerically and graphically, including using statistical software.
    5. Critically evaluate research, research designs, and statistical testing in psychological science.
    6. Effectively communicate research findings, both formally and informally.

NCCW (2020 and onwards) PSYU1104, PSYX1104 and PSYU1105 and PSYX1105. Students should not complete STAX1103 if they have completed both PSYX1104 AND PSYX1105.
