• What you'll learn

  At the completion of this subject, students will be able to:

  1. Identify Indigenous Australians' contemporary and historical contributions to knowledge in scientific and community fields
  2. Recognise the diversity of Indigenous knowledges and in fields of science, technology, land and Country
  3. Analyse and reflect on the on-going relationship of Indigenous and non-indigenous knowledges
  4. Communicate effectively, in a range of written and spoken formats, within the conventions of the discipline of Indigenous Studies
  5. Demonstrate a critical, self-reflective approach to the study of Indigenous histories, based on respect and mutual responsibility

Prior study

You must have successfully completed the following subject(s) before starting this subject:

• MAQ-ABSX1020-Dharug Country: Presences, Places and People
• MAQ-ABSX1000-Introducing Indigenous Australia

  Students who have an Academic Standing of Suspension or Exclusion under Macquarie University's Academic Progression Policy are not permitted to enrol in OUA units offered by Macquarie University. Students with an Academic Standing of Suspension or Exclusion who have enrolled in units through OUA will be withdrawn.
