About this subject

  • At the completion of this subject students will be able to:

    1. convey an understanding of the major debates and contemporary issues raised by the study of International Political Economy
    2. deepen knowledge on the rise of new state and non-state global and international power actors brought about globalisation
    3.  impart a critical understanding of the diverse impacts of global economic integration, especially on the state’s governing powers over the economy through contemporary conceptual approaches and empirical case studies
    4. promote a macro (big picture) perspective on economic globalisation’s impacts, which integrates theory and empirical evidence
    5. develop a  degree  of  knowledge  in  the  policy dimensions  of global economic integration

    Students who have an Academic Standing of Suspension or Exclusion under Macquarie University's Academic Progression Policy are not permitted to enrol in OUA units offered by Macquarie University. Students with an Academic Standing of Suspension or Exclusion who have enrolled in units through OUA will be withdrawn.
