About this subject

  • On successful completion of this subject, you will be able to:

    1. Demonstrate an understanding of key concepts in economic sociology and political economy
    2. Identify important historical developments in the interplay of civil society, the economy and politics
    3. Write coherently, logically and succinctly, while following appropriate academic and stylistic conventions.
    4. Communicate ideas through effective listening and speaking, constructive debates with peers and personal reflection.
    5. Recognise and contribute to sociological and economic arguments used in public and civic debates

    Students who have an Academic Standing of Suspension or Exclusion under Macquarie University's Academic Progression Policy are not permitted to enrol in OUA units offered by Macquarie University. Students with an Academic Standing of Suspension or Exclusion who have enrolled in units through OUA will be withdrawn.
