About this subject

  • On successful completion of this unit, you will be able to:

    1. a) Recognise and recall Greek script and phonetic structure; b) Identify and recall Greek grammatical structures at elementary level; c) Recognise and memorise foundational Greek vocabulary.
    2. Assess the grammar required for the translation of simple Greek texts; b) Explore relevant grammatical and lexical reference tools; c) Recognise and recall linguistic metalanguage.
    3. Integrate knowledge of grammar and vocabulary in reading and/or writing simple Greek texts
    4. Explore the significance of Greek language for the study of relevant ancient cultures.
