About this subject

  • At the completion of this subject students will be able to:

    1. analyse and compare & contrast the physiological differences/changes occurring during different stages of the life span
    2. analyse and compare & contrast the nutritional requirements of pregnant & lactating women, infants, children, adolescents, adults & older persons
    3. analyse and compare & contrast the nutritional issues and habits of particular relevance and particular risk behaviours of each age group
    4. synthesise knowledge of physiology, nutritional requirements & issues and behaviours across the lifespan and apply this knowledge to individuals.

    This subject is offered via Open Universities Australia. La Trobe University students can undertake this subject as part of a cross institutional enrolment under certain circumstances, and must seek approval from the Bachelor of Food and Nutrition Course Coordinator for eligibility. Due to the nature of the subject content and online delivery, enrolments are generally not permitted past the published OUA enrolment date for the study period.
