About this subject

  • Upon the completion of this subject students will be able to:

    • Analyse an entrepreneur and his/her business venture, critically analyse the opportunity recognition and idea development processes, entrepreneurial traits, evaluating the problems or challenges, and propose suggestions for this entrepreneur and the venture;
    • Participate in a team to identify business opportunities, apply entrepreneurship validation tools to validate your business ideas, and from that to employ relevant strategies to develop a startup venture.
    • Develop a new business idea, evaluate the venture’s feasibility, and design a detailed Business Model for your proposed venture.

    This subject is offered via Open Universities Australia. La Trobe University students can undertake this subject as part of a cross institutional enrolment under certain circumstances, and must seek approval from the Bachelor of Food and Nutrition course coordinator for eligibility. Due to the nature of the subject content and online delivery, enrolments are generally not permitted past the published OUA enrolment date for the study period.
