About this subject

  • At the completion of this subject students will be able to:

    1. understand the basic principles of leadership.
    2. evaluate a range of leadership styles.
    3. critique an individual's use of leadership and power in coaching.
    4. understand the role of the leader as mentor.
    5. critically analyse how leadership can impact on sport participation.
    6. apply motivational techniques in leadership roles.
    7. understand and identify techniques for developing teamwork.
    8. recognise leadership strategies for supportive communication.
