About this subject

  • At the completion of this subject students will be able to:

    1. identify the key provisions of the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth) and understand an overview of the employment law systems in Australian states
    2. negotiate, draft and seek approval of an enterprise agreement
    3. advise on unfair dismissals and general protection dismissals
    4. advise on methods of resolving disputes in the workplace other than by litigation
    5. advise on unlawful discrimination and harassment in the workplace
    6. apply the law on unlawful discrimination and harassment
    7. initiate and respond to an industrial claim.
